Santorini Financial Planning have become one of just ten firms to be recognised with the BS8577 business standard.

The award recognises the Loughborough-based firm’s dedication to providing an outstanding operational framework, enabling them to deliver first class service to clients. The award marks Santorini financial planning out as a truly outstanding client-focused organisation, dedicated to providing the highest possible levels of financial advice.

The BS8577 standard was developed by the British Standards Institute, in conjunction with certification body Standards International and industry experts. It is the only professional standard for financial advisers which focuses on core business practice areas such as operational management, management responsibility, recruitment, training, development and ongoing competence.

Matthew Walne, Managing Director of Santorini Financial Planning Ltd, said: ‘We put the service we provide to our clients at the very top of our priority list and we wanted to test how we were delivering this service against the best standards in the business.

‘To then become one of just 10 businesses to achieve the BS8577 standard is really satisfying and justifies the work Santorini have put in to become an outstanding customer-focused, business.’

Matthew had previously become the 100th financial planner to achieve the ISO22222 standard, which recognises advisers who have shown they have achieved a high global standard of financial advice. Both awards were certified by Standards International.

Michelle Hoskin, Business Development Director at Standards International, said: ‘We’re very proud of Matthew and all at Santorini for obtaining the BS8577 standard. The fact that they are currently one of just 10 firms to achieve the award shows just how dedicated they are to providing clients with outstanding advice.

‘The award recognises that Santorini not only strive for high levels of customer focus and client service but that they can also practically demonstrate that they are achieving this. They should be very proud of just how high a standard of client service they are providing.’
